What is coding_

Coding => is the language of digital world. It is the means by which software applications, websites and other digital products are built.

Now, coding is the process of translating abstract algorithms and instructions that a computer can understand. It is what allows computers to do what they do.

Why it is important

Coding is a great way to learn how a computer works. It teaches you how to think like a computer and gives you the opportunity to instruct the computer to execute your program, for fun or beneficial purpose

In this digital era, knowing how to code is important because, well computers are everywhere, starting with the smartphone in your hand and are used often. So the ability to code is important especially in this disruptive season.

Difference between coding and programming

Programming and coding are often used as synonyms but they refer to two different types of activities. Programming is the process of designing and writing computer programs which may be used for a variety of purposes.

Coding is a specific type of programming usually referring to the process of writing lines of text in a programming language which can be translated into machine language.

The goal of both activities is to create a set of instructions that can be used to accomplish a task or answer a question such as performing complex calculations or determining the best route to use.

Let's say that you're fascinated by programming and you have nothing but an android phone. Or maybe you want to make your phone do cool things or you've got a pc or laptop but you're big fan of flexibility and portability. Well we got you covered. Before anything else, install the following apps:

  • Termux
  • Spck editor

You must install termux from f-Droid, a repository for free open-source android applications because termux in play store does not get updates for whatever reasons. If you want to program on android, termux is a must have app on your device. Get installation guide here Termux is basically a Linux environment terminal with Linux like commands, which perfectly makes sense because Android is based on Linux kernel.

Spck editor is a good choice for your programming needs because it comes with projects from github: labs. You can also create react apps on android, thanks to spck editor.
